Ready to Run is a bi-partisan program for women who want to run for office, seek higher office, work on a campaign, get appointed to office, or learn more about the political system.

Saturday, March 20th, 7:30am - 5:30pm

Registration: $150

Citizens' Campaign Mercer County Chair Alysia Welch-Chester will be participating on the "Government and Political Parties 101" panel from 10 am to 12 pm. The session will answer the most common questions about how to get involved in political life. The session provides a "nuts and bolts" overview of the government and political party structure in the state. Topics also include how to position oneself for
appointment to a public board or commission (including how to submit your resumé, who to contact to follow up, and tips for improving your chances) and getting active in the political parties (including an introduction to New Jersey party politics, joining the local party, and building relationships with party operatives).

Other panelists include moderator Ingrid Reed from Rutgers University's Eagleton Institute and Senator Barbaro Buono.
