How citizens can help transform New Jersey politics |
|
Listen to the 1 Hour Interview on NPR's Radio Times with Harry Pozycki, Citizens' Campaign Chair The people of New Jersey are famously fed up about the high taxes they pay and the equally famously corrupt and inept governance they get. Before Republican Chris Christie's challenge ousted incumbent Democratic Governor Jon Corzine in November, independent challenger Chris Daggett's campaign, built around a bipartisan feeling that New Jersey government is broken, picked up considerable acclaim from editorial boards and unaffiliated voters. Now, a grass-roots effort to educate and train a new cadre of 1,000 volunteer government reformers in the Garden State is picking up steam, and on March 16th, many will converge in Pomona for the South Jersey Call to Service Summit. On today's Radio Times, we'll talk to HARRY S. POZYCKI, chairman and founder of Center for Civic Responsibility and its Citizens Campaign, who was recently selected by the Philadelphia Inquirer as its "Citizen of the Year." |
